Tell us a little about yourself, where did you grow up? Hi! I'm Bella. I grew up in Ojai, CA, and am currently going to school and living in San Luis Obispo. I started working for Pure Joy in 2021 and am so grateful to be a part of the Pure Joy team! I have two other jobs, and working at Pure Joy is by far my favorite one.
What is the culture at Pure Joy?
The culture at Pure Joy is amazing. It's truly great being surrounded by such hard-working and kind individuals. I love the people I work with and have made so many friendships that I value immensely. The culture at Pure Joy is uplifting, encouraging, and rewarding. It's an honor to work alongside such great people and to be a part of so many clients' special days.
What do you do for fun?
I'm an avid cyclist and have been racing competitively for three years. I'll be leaving for gravel bike nationals in a few weeks and am super excited! The photo I attached of me riding was from triathlon nationals last year, so much fun! I'm also a huge animal lover and volunteer at a shelter in SLO. The other photos I sent are of me with some amazing shelter pups. They're all such sweet dogs, and I love spending time with them. I don't have much free time, but I love gardening whenever I have a spare moment. My house looks a bit like a jungle with how many plants I have, and I'm even growing a pineapple right now!
What’s your favorite part of your work?
My coworkers! The people at Pure Joy truly make working so special and enjoyable. I look forward to seeing my coworkers and feel like I'm part of a second family. Another one of my favorite parts of working at Pure Joy is being a part of such important and special days in people's lives. Weddings are the primary events I work on, and it's so magical seeing how in love and happy people are on their wedding day.
If you were a cocktail, what would you be and why?
A piña colada because they're sweet, tangy, and delicious! ( A virgin one of course because I'm not 21).
What do you contribute to events (beyond truly exceptional cuisine) 😉?
Hard work and compassion! I always put my all into events and try to go above and beyond to make the clients as happy as possible. I also try to help and encourage newer staff members in hopes of making them feel supported, valued, and motivated to work hard.
