Santa Barbara Spanish Style Wedding

Walk through the streets of downtown Santa Barbara and you'll find Spanish influences everywhere. The streets are lined with white stucco buildings adorned with red tile clay rooftops and vines of Bougainvillea for extra pops of color. A couple we worked with this past year truly embraced the Spanish Style theme for their wedding and it was beyond lovely; it exuded love, culture and color beautifully.

They began their special day exchanging vows at the Santa Barbara Courthouse which vibes vintage, Spanish elegance then meandered to the Santa Barbara Historical Museum for their gorgeous wedding reception. Every single detail speaks to their Spanish theme; the venue, linens, florals, specialty cocktails and even their menu. The bright and baby blues, burnt oranges and Spanish ceramics used throughout the reception created the perfect Spanish look while the menu tantalized everyone's taste buds. Here's what was served:

Specialty Cocktail: Fresh Squeezed Blood Orange Margaritas

Passed Appetizers:

Handmade Chicken Empanadillas accompanied by creamy chipotle salsa

Tamale Poppers fresh corn & queso fresco filling

Baked Artichoke Bottoms lemony parmesan filling

Fresh Squeezed Margaritas & Grilled Fish Tacos; mini margarita filled patron bottles & bite sized tacos on limes

Antipasto Station: al fresco display of charcuterie, cheeses, artichoke hearts, local organic tomato bruschetta, toasted olive oil brushed baguettes, grilled veggies, marinated olives, layered savory tortes, caponata, pepperoncini, crudite, ciabatta & handmade bread sticks

Entree Action Stations:

Salad Station

Tossed Organic Baby Greens feta, toasted pecans, cherries and fresh orange vinaigrette

Buttermilk Salad tossed greens, local oranges, avocado, red onion & fresh buttermilk dressing

Watermelon Salad cubed watermelon & pistachio crusted goat cheese medallions dressed with local honey, mint and lime

Pasta Station

Imported pastas & GF pasta, with fresh made sauces; pesto, garden marinara, parmigiana alfredo, fresh spinach, tomatoes, artichoke hearts, parmesan, kalamata olives, feta & toasted pine nuts

Portobella Mushroom Raviolis browned sage butter

Chef Manned Carving Station

Oven Roasted Salmon sun dried tomato & pine nut crust, topped with preserved lemon gremolata

Mesquite Flank Steak with chimichurri & madeira green peppercorn sauce

Dessert Stations:

Berry Shortcake Station with fresh baked shortcakes, pound cake, angel food cake, whipped cream, caramel sauce & farmer’s market organic berries

Cheesecake Station with cosmo glasses filled with a scoop of New York Style Cheesecake and a plethora of toppings
