Where did you grow up?
I grew up in a small city in Massachusetts where it was cold 10 months out of the year. Living there, I wasn’t too fond of the freezing winters nor the shoveling of snow… every hour. I always told my parents “when I turn 18, I’m moving to California.”, of course they never believed me. I ended up moving when I was 17 and finished my senior year of high school in Santa Barbara.
What is the culture at Pure Joy?
Pure Joy is like having a second family, we laugh and fight but always come together and create beautiful work in the end.
What do you contribute to events (beyond truly exceptional cuisine 😉?
I pay attention to the little details that help make the event run smoothly.
What’s your favorite part of your work?
My favorite part of Pure Joy is helping people plan the party of their dreams. I live for the wow factor, when people walk into the room and are completely blown away. Knowing I was a part of that is my favorite feeling.
If you were a cocktail, what would you be and why?
A Zombie, after drinking too many of these they start to make you feel like a zombie, much like the feeling towards the end of wedding season.
What do you do for fun?
I adore building, designing and creating pieces from scratch, whether that be home décor, clothing or animations. Any artsy craft you can think of, I’ve most likely taken on and absolutely loved doing.
What else do you want our readers to know about you?
I have an appetite to learn, meet new people and experience different cultures. Being stagnant and not growing as a person is my worst fear.
